I’m after to shed a few pounds now that the Christmas and New year period is over. I have always found it hard to stick to a diet and exercise plan for longer than a month. What’s different this time round you ask? This time round I have my dogs to help me along the way.
If you read my posts you will know I have a 20 month English Springer spaniel and a 22 week old Labrador puppy. Both my dogs are full of energy… Especially Lola my springer. I am technically going to be killing 2 birds with one stone so to speak by exercising my dogs and getting their energy out and also getting rid of my winter chub.
A well exercised dog means a better behaved dog and a dog that it more willing to learn during training sessions rather than just wanting to jump around and play. So you may ask what is your plan for this workout? I’m about to tell you…
After taking the kids to school I plan on getting changed into some workout clothes, putting on my waist, no hands leader and taking Lola for a jog around the outside of the local park… We can then go in the field for a little play to cool off then walk home.
At home I will be then doing 10 squats, 10 crunches, 10 lunges and 10 side bends then readying Loki up for some exercise. With Loki only being 22 weeks we will be taking a power walk to the field… Having a play inside the field and a power walk home. Then again with my squats, lunges and so on.
Although it may not seem like much it is going to have a huge impact on my dogs behaviour and on my weight loss so to me it’s a win win.
There is also such a thing known as Doga which is yoga with your dog… Hmm what is your thoughts on Doga?
